O’Hooley & Tidow

★★★★★ 'Boundless songwriting and exquisite harmonies that truly shine.' The Guardian

★★★★ 'Dense, complex, beautifully performed.' Songlines Magazine

★★★★ Uncut Magazine

With a personal invite from Billy Bragg to play Glastonbury, sessions on BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Radio 2, multiple five star reviews and champions in Maxine Peake and Martin Simpson, the songwriting, voice and piano partnership of Belinda O'Hooley (formerly of The Unthanks) and Heidi Tidow (pronounced Tee-doe) is justly regarded as 'one of British folk music's mightiest combinations' (Mojo Magazine).

Belinda and Heidi's 'exceptional' (The Guardian) songwriting is distinctive, inventive and boundless, from an emotionally charged song about an elephant orphanage in Nairobi, to a joyous celebration of the Leeds cycling champion Beryl Burton.

Having the originality and skill to invite comparison with the most celebrated harmony duos, from early Simon & Garfunkel to the iconic Kate and Anna McGarrigle, The Coppers or The Watersons, this Huddersfield-based duo stamp their innovative and often moving set with their own distinct identity.
